Wet Gulf sand wants more loft than inland
Onshore nights leave municipal traps dark and heavy. The sand clings to the face. A 56 that looked honest on a dry range mat exits here with a lower splash and a shorter carry. That is not a “commit more” speech. That is loft lost to water weight.
The squeeze test
Cole squeezes a fist of tray sand. If it holds a shape and glistens, the wet Gulf tray is honest. If it crumbles, we are accidentally running a packed visit. We would rather delay a window than lie with dry silica. Monday exists so this tray can be rebuilt instead of faked.
What wet sand does to stamped loft
The sole stalls. The face arrives with less effective loft. Splash height drops. The ball often comes out hot and low, then runs. Golfers call that a flyer. On wet Gulf sand it is often a loft stall, not a clean-groove flyer. We separate those two on the sheet because the next club is different.

Most Corpus golfers need both liars on the same sheet. Morning damp at Oso is not noon bake on a Padre lip. A single tray produces a single story. We will argue for the two-club pair or a single loft through both trays before we argue for a full sand bag.
